In addition to executing the required processes, each team was required to implement selected functions in their systems and present the solutions to the audience of ERP experts from the manufacturing industry, who evaluated their performance. One of the challenges was how to explain the processes to a group of business users without confusing them. The winner was the team from the SAP consulting company, itelligence, with their it.manufacturing template based on SAP Business All-in-One.
Ian Hayward, itelligence Managing Director UK, comments: "This result demonstrates our innovative but proven consulting expertise and the capability of our consultants to analyse the customer’s requirements, enhance them using their own experience and incorporate the result in the software solution. We believe that our software solutions set the standard for successful ERP projects for midmarket customers.“
The scenario for this system comparison reflected day-to-day ERP usage, by an accelerated pace. The business processes of CRM, order processing, production and delivery, including services, were executed, and the results were examined through reports.
Everything was included – customer acquisition with a marketing campaign, customer visits and proposals, cross-company scheduling and confirmation, production and delivery including export to a foreign country and final cost calculation, plus evaluation and analysis. In order to make the competition as realistic as possible, the testers also included spontaneous changes during the evaluation, such as a change to a production order after it had been released from internal to external production.
